Ian Beard - RIP - 24th May 2024
We bring you sad news that Ian Beard passed away on 24th May 2024.
Ian's funeral will take place on 28th June at 1:00 pm. (Church of the good shepherd, Broadwell. The one behind the evergreen Hall. Then burial at Mile End cemetery.)
We will miss members like Ian, willing to give a hand and marshalling besides riding in a good selection of disciplines himself. You can see, even from links within our own club website that he was braver than many of us with riding; the Weston Beach Race 2003 (2004 sponsoring, 2005 Press), Helping organise Hare and Hounds Enduros Chicken Run 2008, Hill Climbs 2003, 2009, 2011. Rally events like the Hafren and Tarenig. He'd also Ride and Report or help observe many of our Trailbike Trials (Rockfield T/B Trial Summer 2011 And Winter 2011). And ride serious one day trials like the centre Championship round at Stony Green, as well as being an Observer's draw winner (It matters, we'd struggle without kind souls like Ian!) in our Wyegate Long Distance Trial. Reporting was not beyond Ian's skills either, Wellhead Trial 2007. Have a look at shots from our archive below.
