Rhyd-Blawd Hare & Hounds May 2007

Report from Steve Biddle

We've just got these notes through from Steve who was our sole representative at Builth's Hare & Hounds. Results are now out and Steve came fourth in Clubman.

I went up to the Builth Wells' round 2 Rhyd-Blawd H&H, the only one from our club, but met up with two boys from down the valleys that I know from work. I rode my 250 in the clubman class and they both rode sportsman.

The event was held at Eddie Morris Enduro Park, quite a good venue really. It was a 5 mile course with part motocross and part enduro track. There were two quite steep hill climbs and two really steep down hills which were ok 'til it rained, in fact it rained all the 3hrs after the 1st lap. One stream that we rode was nadgery and it was a slate bottom so it was nasty if you had a fall. They had to cut some of the course out 'cause it just got too bad and also cut the race short by half of an hour, fair play, it did get really hard to even stay on the bike! I still completed 17 laps which I thought to be good as Edmondson (Lee) completed 21 and other experts only 19. My two mates had a bit of a hard time, one had a DNF and the other did 10 laps.

The KX is in for a rebuild now ready for the rest of the season. My next race is on the XR at Radnor Forest on June 10th and then onto Abergavenny for the Mercian on 17th, hopefully back on the KX. The Builth Wells round 3 is in November at Hundred House if anybody is interested.

Builth Wells club put on a good race, fair play, but they're not using transponders yet so a bit slow in check in. A good day all round.

Oh, just like to say what a good event that was down at Rockfield that everbody organised, I really enjoyed it, great bit off fun, well done to everybody - just a bit tired riding Sat then hare and hounding it next day, good weekend's riding though.
