Central Wale Auto Club's Radnor Timecard Enduro - 23 Sep 07

Tom Lee, Steve Biddle and Wayne Hewitt had a trip to Central Wales Auto Club's Radnor Timecard Enduro for a Class Win, A Gold and a DNF respectively. Tom has scribbled (Did I say scribbled? This lad definitely passed his English exams! ed.) his report below.

Thirty miles of Welsh forestry greeted me on my first lap of the Radnor forest Enduro - stumps, roots, mud and ruts the whole way round! Three laps sounded easy, until my dad pointed out I would be riding for six hours! I rode okay for the first lap and stayed clean on time, really starting to get back into the swing of things as I have hardly ridden this summer, and was really enjoying it, although I knew that third lap was going to be tough. I took it easy on the special tests, not wanting to use any extra energy as that check was fairly slack.

My second lap went well, the organisers dropped four minutes off the 40/50 minute checks but I stayed right on time and felt good. On the third lap I was feeling the effects of a tough course and I dropped three minutes, which I was pleased with considering what I was being told about Radnor forest before hand! Complete torture, but well worth the satisfaction of coming through that final check and winning my class. Well done to Steve Biddle as well, who seemed to have a good ride on his new Yam, finishing well up the Clubman class, and my friend Lel Pavey who came third sportsman on his first time-card event. Thanks must go to the organisers also, who put on a proper welsh time-card Enduro!
