Foxwell Enduro 2007

Quick results round up for the fling: I got a bronze, like Dave Pinney. Glenn jacked it in on lap four after two big offs bent the bars both ways. Steve Biddle's test times indicated a good finishing position but was thwarted by a collapsed back wheel. Rikki Lane also DNF'd.

As always well organised but very very fast and tight on time. Thanks to the Swindon & DMCC for a smooth event and they were magnanimous enough to admit it was a bit too tight on time. They were also good enough to get us a late entry, so full marks for that!

Only the sportsman winner stayed clean on time all day but when Ciren Park is dry it's difficult to set a challenge, so the only way to go is tighten it up. I could have gone a little quicker but then again, I could have copped a big accident.

I lost 5+8 minutes after minute allowance adjustment and it's fair to say me and fellow EC200 converts Steve Venn and Dave Pinney enjoyed flicking our little bikes through the trees.

Next year the club wants to do something special to mark 30 years of Corinium Enduros and have suggested a 30 mile lap! The Fling was actually 90-odd miles which I think is further than 4 laps of the Corinium for the clubmen.

To sum up, four and a half hours in the saddle, flat out, great fun but perhaps a more gentle time schedule next year will benefit the whole field.
