Apologies, I had the Dai's wrong way around after Tie deciding. Dai Bedford won the Sports Plus.

This is the 3rd round of ACU Western's new Clubman Championship. All classes are allowed to enter but only certain ones are eligible for points.

This Sunday trial tied in with the Centre's Youth Development Squad who were running their Summer Training camp on the Friday and Saturday at the same venue and WG offered to help by running the 3rd day as an actual trial, for them to test their newfound skills.

Camping was available over the 3 days. We also had a great village pub (Crown Inn, Longtown), with some great food and drink available.

The Squad have regular updates on their Facebook page

Heard the story of why Rich Gwinnutt was sponsored (he had a 'BrenKed' Sherco)? It is possible to 'crack a yoke' on a 4RT. (See what I did there?)

Adrian and Ken has a slightly delayed start as the collective Brown heads were scratched. A misfire was eventually traced down by Gordon to one strand of wire waggling free in the coil and a good ride by Adrian later on the hard course.

What a great range of ages we had riding. This truly is a sport you could ride your whole life. Congrats to Martin on his win and being in the top age range (Experience counts!) And now look at Sportsman with 2 over 60s taking the lead, but 2 opposite age range trainees were hot on their heels.

Many thanks to our willing observers. And apologies that views were not as described in the sales literature. Unfortunately we were not confident we would be able to man the top 2 sections, which were nearly a mile away from the start, right at the top of the farm, so the reduced 10 limit was quickly increased to 11 to use one of our 'Spare' observers. This also helps to explain why we guessed the laps wrong. You wait, you'll moan next year when it will be 4 laps of 12!

Thanks to the many who entered OnLine. West Glos are trying to go 'OnLine' only, and if you were in the queue to sign-on then you will know what we would like to avoid. No one should be filling a form in on the day. Organisers needed to know who they were catering for the week before at least. OnLine enterers only needed to sign on and picked their numbers up and walked away, that's it - no money changing hands, no licence checking, no last minute Licence applications, no last minute which-route/Class pondering after never having read the regs anyway. What? Me? Rant?. Anyone feeling guilty yet? We do have vacancies in the list of event officials! (YDS Trainees were the only ones who should have been filling in forms and most of them did the evening before - so don't feel guilty you guys.)

With a number of our regulars already off on their summer hols we still had a health entry who enjoyed some pretty good summer weather.

Here are a few pics from the first training Day showing some of the section we were riding.

Many more shots to come. Might take a few days, sorry.

If any riders/parents would like shots emailed to them then please ask (Viv took loads more than shown). admin@wgdfmcc.org.uk
