Rockfield Enduro - 17th September 2006

I rode the Rockfield H&H on Sunday down at Roy's. 3 hrs of varied going. Out in the fields was very fast. They had one tricky section in the brook which was closed off after about 2hrs which shortened the track down to about 4 miles. They used parts of the track that we use on the hillclimb. The woods were quite tight but flowing. There were quite a few of our forest members and home guard guys down there as well.
I used my new WR and I am quite pleased with it so far, although still getting use to it, I am getting faster. Next events for me are Mercian, Midwest in Shepton Mallet, Builth Rnd 3, Midwest Melksham, then Ceri Iron Man. Not doing the Beach Race this year as I'm too busy elsewhere, shame though, I'd like to do it again.
The results for Sunday were; Sam Wilson, Steve Venn Martin Howitt on 8 laps, Guy Mansfield-Smith, Martin Kear and Dave Smailes on 9 laps. Simon Ellaway and me on 10 laps and I just beat Simon by 1 min on overtime. This was one of my best results yet at 3rd in experts. Rob Breakwell got the Premier on 11 laps, well done Rob and thanks to Roy for the use of land, great day.
