Vess Report
When you overhear someone reporting "Bob Perring says the course is 'evil'" you know you're in trouble (don't know if he actually said that but it's a good quote).
The first lap was ok, but some parts of the course got progressively worse over the next two laps. No stoppers as such, but it just got much harder to ride (or paddle!). The problem wasn't of the CoC's making, it was due to the very heavy showers Saturday night and during the event that just turned some parts into soggy gloopy ruts and holes.
I managed to bury my back wheel by a small bridge on the third lap. By the time I'd extracted the bike I was spent, so just wobbled around to the finish where I threw in the towel. There I found Guy who had hurt his back, Pete who had broken off his handlebars, James had given up and Chris had long gone home. No problems for Mr Biddle though - he completed his 6 laps to be 2nd expert.
Big shame, as it should have been a much more enjoyable 'proper' enduro. Hopefully WTRA will have another go next year and book some better weather!

Steve's Report
Started at 10:02, the track was good but I could tell that it was going to be cut up and turn out really hard....... test, it was very slippery, offset cambers, very twisty virgin ground with some deadly holes hidden in the ferns........................ I had 3 offs in one test, then got held up by a back marker......... the tank ruts were full of water with tracks around the outside which I took on every lap, those who tried them were up to the handlebars and there were lots of them........ ,Read Steve's full report on the Biddle Blog...
